Student Life :: Celebration/Picnics/Gathering

Festivals are celebration time at Millennium. Being in a country like India, who can resist the festivities and the stories behind them? All the boys and girls right from nursery, do the dahi handi on Gokulashtami, they decorate the school and make lanterns and lamps in Diwali. They have the faraal during snacks as they have the Diwali party. Even Christmas, they make decorations, sing the traditional songs and have a Santa and a tree! The children even mould and paint statues during Ganpati.

All round exposure and development is what we strive for. We make it compulsory for every child to make an appearance on the stage as that is the only way to tackle stage fright. They anchor the entire annual gathering and present dances and plays on the stage. The props and drapery is all provided by the school and the gathering goes on for almost a week as each child has at least one performance on stage. They are trained to speak on the stage, dance and act during the school year. In fact, this is even allowed to be pursued as a special activity from the eighth standard onwards.

Excursions and field trips are also part of the curriculum. The children are taken to museums, historical places, forts or factories depending on which standard they are in. This helps the children obtain firsthand experience of things that they learn about in the curriculum. Our own van service provides safe travel to and fro.
